Tactile story panels and sculptural retelling of a riveting Grimm's fairytale; an etherial video of magical inner awakenings; and a surreal multi-media installation on the toxic plastic in the trashed Pacific Gyre  - these are all stops on the path to the 'The Waiting', the sanctum or grotto of the exhibition.

The last part of the journey entails crossing a narrow threshold into another room and stepping onto a small platform at the edge of an expanse
of reflective black water. A creaky boardwalk to the center of the grotto provides  the best vantage point of both the haunting casts of children covering the walls ( our children ) and of their reflections.

The Children

A
mazing youngsters between the ages of 4 and 12 volunteer to have their bodies cast for the last two environmental sections of the exhibition (and 55 actually stayed still long enough for the plaster to harden). With their involvement each child is voting with their entire being, trusting we see value in their  'investment'  and in their future.
