The goal was to pull the focus of the viewer
upwards both physically and metaphorically

20 suspended hand-built stoneware winged
horses of varying size, glazed to appear like
the marble of classical greek statuary

built with interior clay grid systems, the larger
beasts requiring cantilevered wings

suspended through the horse's back to the
balance points at the bellies with piano wire...
then anchored to the ceiling

each playful winged horse in the trio is approx.28" in height

gazing up to the second story at the departing herd, each winged horse approx 10". in height

a view from the main floor lobby at the herd's decent and rising back up again

the largest creature being 32" in height
